Onuesoke Foundation has joined millions around the world to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026, hailing women for their contributions to global development.
In a press statement on Sunday, the foundation charged international organisations and donor agencies to continue to support initiatives that promote and empower women and girl-child.
The statement read; “As the world marks International Women’s Day 2026, the Onuesoke Foundation celebrates the invaluable contributions of women and girls in advancing community development, education and sustainable livelihoods across Delta State and the wider Niger Delta.
“This year’s message from the Foundation centers on the theme ‘Give to Gain’. The principle is simple but powerful: when communities invest in women, everyone benefits. Supporting women through education, skills development, environmental awareness, and economic opportunities creates stronger families, healthier communities, and more sustainable local economies.
“The Onuesoke Foundation therefore encourages donors, development partners, and corporate organisations to continue supporting initiatives that empower women and girls, particularly in rural communities where opportunity gaps remain significant.
“By giving support, knowledge, and opportunity, we collectively gain a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous society. Together, let us give to gain,” the statement read
